In 2000s, a special phenomenon occurred in the music industry. This is the phenomenon that many male singers sing with almost the same voice and singing.
It sounds like ‘워~’. Some people named it “소몰이 창법”. It became quite popular with the public due to its unusual voice.
A male vocal group, SG워너비 debuted in 2004. It is a ballad group that swept through the mid-to-late 2000s, famous for 소몰이 창법. From their debut until 2007, Dong-ha Chae (leader), Yong-joon Kim , and Jin-ho Kim were active members, but a new member Lee Seok-hoon has replaced since 채동하 left.
What is the meaning of the band name, SG워너비?
The name of SG Wannabe (SG Wanna Be) is "The Legend of rock group Simon and Garfunkel want to be like (Simon & Garfunkel)”. But their music style was not really related to rock. Have you listened to their songs before?
We can see their stages on TV nowadays due to one TV program project, ‘MSG워너비’.
Furthermore, their songs have been played many times to remember their reputation again!
