Today's weather in Sydney is very cloudy and cold,
even though the forecast said it would be sunny..!
Don't you want to speak 'how is the weather today?' in Korean?
Then, let us explore about weather vocabulary today!
1. How is the weather today?
오늘 날씨 어때/어때요?
oneul nalssi eottae/eottaeyo?
* 오늘 날씨 어때? is the informal way of sentence to ask how today's weather
* 오늘 날씨 어때요? is the formal way of sentence to ask how today's weather
(Have you found the rule of formal way through 'YO'? We will cover more about the formal way in future lesson!)
Huh? why did you not add subject particle by the way?
In conversation, we often can use the sentence without particles, if the meaning of sentence doesn't change!
But we can add particle for completion form of sentences
* 오늘 날씨가 어때요? is the formal way of sentence to ask how today's weather with subject particle
oneul nalssiga eottaeyo?
* 오늘 날씨는 어때요? is the formal way of sentence to ask how today's weather with subject particle, too
oneul nalssineun eottaeyo?
What about weather tomorrow~?
*내일 날씨 어때요? = How is the weather tomorrow?
naeil nalssi eottaeyo?
Ah ha~! now I have got each meaning!
날씨 = weather
오늘 = today
내일 = tomorrow
-- 어때요 = how is -- ?
2. Describe the weather
😊It is sunny = 맑아요/맑네요
malg-ayo/malgneyo
😚It is windy = 바람이 불어요/부네요
balam-i bul-eoyo/buneyo
😐It is cloudy = 구름이 많아요/많네요
guleum-i manh-ayo/manhneyo
🥶It is cold = 추워요/춥네요
chuwoyo/chubneyo
😂It is hot = 더워요/덥네요
deowoyo/deobneyo
😆It is rainy = 비가 와요/ 내려요
biga wayo/biga naelyeoyo
😄It is snowy = 눈이 와요/ 내려요
nun-i wayo/nun-i naelyeoyo
