Did our readers of edu 101 know that 'Elevator' is 'Elevator' in Korean? 😲

 

BUT, 엘리베이터 [ellibeiteo] , this is how to pronounce!, yes, similar but a bit differnt!

Today we are going to have a look some 'Loanwords'! In Korean, 외래어

 

 

ps. The contents today are very easy, trust me and follow me!

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Ramen 라면 🙀 ( I didn't even know it was from Japanese before ) 

             [lamyeon]

 

Many people pronounce 'Ra-' but in Korean, please pronounce 'La-'! 

 

 

2. Cardigan 가디건

                 [gadigeon]

 

3. Debut 데뷔

            [debwi]

 

4. Ice cream 아이스크림 😍 😍

                 [aiseukeulim] 

 

c.f) Ice cream has 2 Syllables but in Korean 아 이 스 크 림 , 😲😲 in total, 5 Syllables!!!

 

5. Lavender 라벤더

                [labendeo]

 

 

 

 

😍  6. Coat 코트, 자켓

          [koteu]

 

7. Label 라벨

           [label]

 

8. Randevu 랑데부

               [langdebu]

 

9. Diamond 다이아몬드 😍

                [daiamondeu]

 

10. Repertoire 레파토리

                   [lepeotoli] 

 

 

All girls may wish ....!

 

 

11. Rome 로마

             [loma]

 

12. Robot 로보트

             [lobot]

 

13. Bulldozer 불도저

                  [buldojeo]

 

(This was one of the words that I never guessed it is from English...hahah)

 

 

14. Coffee 커피 😍

              [keopi]

We can get confused so much, when we hear [Keopi] as 'Coffee' ㅋㅋ

And Koreans know, we say that this is 'Koglish', Korean + Enlish

 

15. Rehearsal 리허설

                  [liheoseol]

 

 

 

 

 

16. Margarine 마가린 

                   [magalin]

 

17. Butter 버터

             [beoteo]

 

18. Mannequin 마네킹

                    [maneking]

 

19. Marathon 마라톤 

                  [malaton]

 

20. Chocolate 초콜렛 😆

                  [chokollet]

 

 

My favourit sweet, 초콜렛!!!!!!!!!!

 

 

 

See? wasn't it too easy? 😆 

 

 

I reckon that we all learnt these and are able to remember all very quick,

since it is quite simliar with original forms!!
